Quality Coordinator - Renew Data Steward

Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be a self-driven motivated individual with a passion for the wildlife and environmental field who is experienced in data entry and enjoys problem-solving. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in data entry/management and be skilled in various databases. 
 
Responsibilities include:
  • Provides technical and administrative support on a variety of Quality Program initiatives, measurement tools or processes.
  • Participates in developing process improvements and trainings for the Quality Program. 
  • Provides technical and administrative support and training to team members for data entry or QA/QC (Quality Assurance/Quality Control).
  • Follow pre-existing procedures for data entry and data QA/QC in MS Access and MSSQL databases.
  • Maintain a strong foundation in data entry and provide support for data entry and QA/QC to other offices.
  • Identify efficiency measures for data entry and QA/QC procedures.
  • Investigate and resolve data quality issues using a high level of initiative and critical thinking to solve challenging problems; Confirm unclear situations with peers and/or supervisors.
  • Review all necessary documents from clients (i.e., study plans, field standard operating procedures or protocols, QA/QC procedures) to assess and understand data specifications.
  • Import and export data, produce various data summaries, assist in developing graphs and tables and perform simple analyses with pre-existing procedures.
  • Perform any tasks that assist the Quality Program Manager to achieve the team’s goals and objectives.
  • Adhere to health and safety protocols as necessary for the tasks preformed.

Requirements:
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in biological studies, natural resources, wildlife management, wildlife biology, statistics, business or finance, quality process improvement or related field. Data entry, database management, technical editing.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in quality management systems and processes, with experience improving product quality.
  • Organizational and task/time management skills to work efficiently and independently.
  • Ability to identify quality issues or concerns and offer solutions.
  • Knowledge of or experience in using most tracking/data tools (data entry mail log and project coordination sheet) to facilitate project processing, archiving, server operations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in various formats: face-to-face, phone, email and other electronic communications.
  • Interest in working with wildlife, environmental, and renewable energy data and databases.
  • Highly developed ability to stay focused and pay attention to detail.
  • High level of initiative and ability to think critically to solve challenging problems.
  • Self-starter who can work independently yet thrives in a team environment.
  • Capable of appearing for work on time, sitting for long periods of time, following instructions from managers, interact effectively with coworkers and clients, maintain a positive attitude, accept guidance and constructive feedback.
  • Preference could be given to those with:
  • Coursework and/or experience with ArcGIS, MS Access, MS Word, MS Excel, MSSQL and/or R.
  • Experience with Google workspace applications.
  • Experience in writing or technical editing of documents, protocols, reports, user guides.
  • Field work experience and a willingness to go in the field for wildlife studies.
