Civil Engineering EI

The Kelley Group is a civil engineering firm with two office locations: Birmingham and Tuscumbia, Alabama. We are seeking civil engineering candidates to fill a full-time position. Responsibilities & Duties:
  • Provide engineering support to senior engineers for a variety of design civil projects (public and private) projects including water, wastewater, stormwater, transportation and recreational projects. Also includes site design for residential, commercial, and industrial developments.
  • Assist in the development of probable construction cost estimates.
  • Assist in the analysis and preparation of reports, maps and drawings.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, permits with Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Fish and Wildlife, etc.,
  • Prepare design computations and quantity estimates.
  • Review construction site to monitor progress and other duties per the contract documents.
  • Use of AutoCAD and Civil 3D in the preparation of surveys, site plans, grading plans, utility plans, construction layout and staking.
  • Design site civil, municipal and transportation projects with the use of AutoCAD Civil 3D and other design software.
  • GIS modeling and new app development

Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
  • Motivated, organized and responsible
  • BS Civil Engineering or will graduate within one year
  • Successful passing of FE
  • 0 - 3 years of experience
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of computer software and hardware, including Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, queries) and Access
  • Knowledge of ESRI software
