Corporate Security Intern
Location: Atlanta, GA
About the Role:
As an Electronic Security Intern, you’ll help support Southern Company’s security technology systems. You’ll assist with maintaining and improving electronic security tools like access control systems and video surveillance. This role is a great opportunity to learn how technology helps keep facilities safe.
What You’ll Do:
- Help maintain and troubleshoot physical access control and video surveillance systems.
- Assist with setting up and testing security equipment such as cameras and access readers.
- Support the team with software updates, system checks, and documentation.
- Work with other departments and contractors to help implement security projects.
- Learn how to research new technologies and suggest improvements.
- Help monitor and respond to technical issues with security systems.
What You’ll Learn:
- How electronic and networked security systems work.
- Basics of system design, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- How large companies manage technology projects and upgrades.
- Team collaboration and communication in a professional environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Interest in electronics, networking, or computer systems.
- Basic understanding of electrical circuits or IT systems (a plus, not required).
- Willingness to learn about CCTV, access control systems, and software tools.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
Education:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Criminal Justice, or a related technical field.
