About You
We’re looking for someone who has:
- A B.S. in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology
- 0–2 years of civil engineering experience
- EIT certification preferred
- Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures
- Ability to learn relevant state or local agency systems, policies, and procedures
- Ability to learn standard operations, policies, and procedures of a firm, preferably within the A/E industry
- Advanced knowledge of the practical application of engineering principles, practices, and techniques, including industry guidelines such as AASHTO where applicable
- Proficiency in engineering design software (experience with MicroStation V8i, InRoads, or similar software is desired but not required)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management capabilities
- Ability to build and maintain excellent interpersonal relationships and work independently on multiple tasks without direct supervision

About the Role
As a Civil Engineer-in-Training, you will:
- Support the design and development of civil engineering projects, including infrastructure such as transportation, site development, utilities, and environmental components
- Participate in the preparation of engineering reports, plans, and specifications for a variety of projects
- Assist in preparing and reviewing preliminary and final plans, contract documents, technical specifications, and cost estimates; provide recommendations when modifications are necessary
- Collaborate with project team members, clients, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders to resolve design challenges and coordinate project elements
