Project engineer intern

June - August 2018 • Los Alamos, NM

What I liked

Small and close community. The la emphasizes teamwork and collaboration. There’s a lot of opportunity to move around the lab performing different jobs.

What I wish was different

Wish public transportation was offered on the weekend and not just the weekdays.

Advice

Los Alamos is a small city, so there’s not a lot of things to do outside the lab.

Project Management Intern

May - August 2018 • Los Alamos, NM

What I liked

I really enjoyed that this internship offered a very hands-on environment. There was an organised program for interns to complete real projects and real work with past and new knowledge you will gain.

What I wish was different

I wish the communication was a bit better. It seemed as if we were getting told different things from different people up there chain and weren't always sure the processes that we should be following.

Advice

I would tell you to look for housing early if you believe that you may be receiving the internship. There is a lack of housing that may leave you homeless or commuting hours at a time.
